Accidents happen, so we’re here to make sure that for 10 years we can have you steadfast back on your bike once the unthinkable happens.

    • In the event of an accident resulting in a PROTOTYPE product suffering structural damage that inhibits it from being safely used, we offer a 10-year Crash Replacement Program that gives a discount to purchase the necessary replacement parts/products.

      The discount applies as follows:

      • 1ˢᵗ year – 75% off MSRP on the replaced parts
      • 2ⁿᵈ – 3ʳᵈ  year – 50% off MSRP on the replaced parts
      • 4ᵗʰ – 10ᵗʰ year – 20% off MSRP on the replaced parts

      The PROTOTYPE Crash Replacement Program is focused on servicing your existing product back into normal operation.

      In the event of a total loss, we will provide a quote for a new product of the same model following the discount rates above.

      If the model is no longer available, PROTOTYPE will provide a comparable product of equal or similar function, and quality, at our discretion. In these cases, color and artwork may vary from the clients’ product.

      • The product must be registered through the PRODUCT REGISTRATION form within the first 30 days of purchase.
      • To activate the Crash Replacement Program, take your bike to your local bike shop and have their service person fill the Crash Replacement form (in this page) with all attachments requested.
      • Once we verify if the information is valid, we’ll collect the damaged product. Crash Replacements aren’t approved until our service center analyzes the product.
      • If the case is approved, the Service Center will provide a quote following the discount rate table above.
        • Note: The discount does not apply to the labor rates, shipping, any other additional parts the client might request to be changed/serviced or the service being done by the bike shop. It also cannot be used alongside other PROTOTYPE discounts, offers or promotions.
      • If the client approves the service, the damaged parts/products will become property of PROTOTYPE.
      • If the client denies the service, the damaged parts/products will be sent back to the client as is.
      • When a crash replacement repair results only in the swap of the damaged components, the warranty and crash replacement periods remain based on the date of purchase of the product.
      • When a repair isn’t possible and the damaged product is replaced with a new product, the new product can be registered to benefit from new extended warranty and crash replacement periods.
      • Due to the 10-year period covered, we cannot guarantee continued availability of all models, colors, or designs. In the event that an exact replacement is no longer available, a comparable product of equal or similar function and quality may be provided at our discretion. In such cases, color, finish, and artwork may differ from the original product.
      • You must be the original owner and registered the product within the first 30 days of purchase through the PRODUCT REGISTRATION form.
      • The program is valid for 10 years from the date of purchase.
      • The reasons for denial of crash replacement repair include, but are not limited to, the following:
        • The person is not the original buyer;
        • The damage was intentional;
        • The product was modified, altered, poorly maintained or incorrectly assembled;
        • The product was used outside its discipline or specifications;
        • The product only presents cosmetic damage;
        • The product only presents normal wear and tear;
        • The serial number of the product is unredable, tampered or doesn’t match the invoice originally submited through product registration form;
        • Claims inconsistent with normal use or misrepresentation of the circumstances of the damage;
        • Signs of exploiting the crash replacement program;

      The Crash Replacement Program is a courtesy offered by PROTOTYPE to support our customers in the event of accidental damage. We reserve the right to modify, deny, or revoke access to this program at any time, including in cases of abuse, fraud, or misuse.
