What is the issue?
Some SP DISC and EVO 4/EVO 4 SP hubs manufactured between 2019 and 2021 may exhibit material defects or cracks in the flange of the hub’s and/or in the disc attachment area. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our customers, which is why we have implemented this Hub Inspection Program.
As a consumer, what should I do?
First, make sure your hub is included in the hubs recall. Then, we request that you take your wheel to the store where you purchased it or to a PROTOTYPE dealer, fill the information form. We will take care of all from this point.
Which hubs should be inspected?
The SP DISC hubs SPD-03, SPD-04, SPD-05, and EVO 4 E4S-01 and EV4-04 sold between 2019 and 2021 should be inspected.
Do I have to go to the store? Can I send directly to PROTOTYPE?
We ask that you cooperate preferably with your local store regarding this subject. PROTOTYPE will work together with our resale partners to carry out this process, ensuring consistent follow-up and quality service.
How do I identify if my hub is part of the hubs recall?
To find out if your product needs to be inspected, you need to identify the model name and the serial number, which are visible on the hub’s body. Refer to the announcement document for specific instructions on how to find this information.
What is the solution?
PROTOTYPE will conduct a technical inspection on all eligible hubs. Please visit a store near you. PROTOTYPE will replace all hub elements that do not pass the inspection process.
Is the replacement hub different from my current hub?
The replacement parts use the latest and improved production techniques. There may be minor aesthetic differences compared to the original hub. In some cases, the exact specification may not be available.
My hub passed inspection, is there anything else I need to do?
No, you will receive your wheels back.
However, we encourage all cyclists to take good care of their wheels and riding equipment across time. Perform tuning and inspections regularly (ask your store for recommendations based on your riding habits).
How long will it take to receive a replacement hub from PROTOTYPE?
PROTOTYPE will do its best to expedite the hub replacement process. However, we may not have your hub in stock immediately. If a replacement hub is not temporarily available, PROTOTYPE will work with the store to communicate and confirm when the replacement is ready.
Thank you in advance for your collaboration and continued support of our brand. Together, we can ensure the safety of our customers and maintain the integrity of our products.
